In its 30th Anniversary year West Bergholt Concert Band is continuing its commitment to promote music making to young musicians in and around Colchester by organising music workshops aimed at both primary and secondary schools. 
We have recently completed workshops with:

• Colchester Girls High School
• Philip Morant Secondary School
• St. Mary's Church, West Bergholt .........

In the same spirit in which it was originally set it up by its founder Mr Sid Cooper, a local peripatetic music teacher, the band is offering the opportunity for young players to join existing members and experience the enjoyment of making music together.  Over the years the band has helped many young members develop their newly formed musical skills by meeting regularly to rehearse at Heathlands School, West Bergholt and then performing at venues across NE Essex raising money for charities and good causes.  We have a Training Band suitable for grades 1-4 and a Concert Band suitable for Grade 5+.

Alternatively you might like to consider our ‘rehearsals on tour’ programme where we come to your school to rehearse one Friday evening and your music students join us in our rehearsal session under the guidance of existing members.
